ADRIAN YOUNGE THE AMERICAN NEGRO

L.A jazz composer and producer Adrian Younge is currently on fire, having recently teamed up with Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Azymuth, and Gary Bartz for new singles. Now, he announces his upcoming album The American Negro, and releases opening track 'The American Negro'. Younge reveals that the new record "Is the most important creative accomplishment of my life". He continues, "This project dissects the chemistry behind blind racism, using music as the medium to restore dignity and self-worth to my people…". The new single is utterly sensational, both in musicality and spirit. Opening with intriguing percussion, and colourful bass, a foundation is laid for the poetic unfolding: 'I am a black American, coloured by America's ineptitude.'. He continues, 'I am an evolving light, living under the shade of our ancestors'. The song evolves into an ornate jazz production, embellished by The Linear Labs Orchestra, and vocals by Loren Oden, Chester Gregory and Sam Harmonix. If this track is anything to go by, the 26 song album is going to be spectacular! -Ellie Rose-Davies
